Make a Tutu

Following the directions listed below you can make your very own simple tutu.

  1. Buy 2 metres of tulle (a net-like material)
  2. Fold in half length-wise
  3. At the fold sew across length (leaving 1 inch from folded edge)
  4. Buy 1 metre of ribbon (less than 1 inch wide)
  5. Attach a safety pin to one end of the ribbon. Pull the pin through the opening created at the fold.
  6. Bunch the material to the centre of the ribbon (leaving equal length on both ends of the ribbon)
  7. Sew across both ends where the ribbon enters the material tube
  8. At the bottom edge of the tutu cut small triangles to create a zig zag effect
  9. Using sequins, beads, feathers, etc, continue to decorate your tutu
