Exploring Ballet
The
National Ballet of Canada offers in-class movement workshops designed to
develop your students’ movement potential and at the same time learn a bit
about classical ballet.
Led by
experienced dance educators, these workshops are a learning experience for both
students and teachers. Through the use of movement and music your class
will be transformed into an arts-minded community as your students’ imaginations
are encouraged to soar. Resources are available on our website for
teachers to continue the exploration and demystify the use of dance in the
classroom.
Each
workshop is 1 hour and can have no more than 30 participants of similar
grades.
Cost: $125/workshop
Exploring Ballet Series
You can
also book a series of workshops to allow for increased opportunities for
students to work in groups, develop longer movement sequences, strengthen their
minds and bodies and enhance their enjoyment of dance.
Through
the use of dance concepts students will learn a warm-up connecting brain and
body, develop dance skills that are age appropriate, problem solve through the
use of movement, create short dance sequences and learn to be observant
audience members.
The dance
educator can incorporate subjects being studied in the classroom into the
students’ movement learning insuring the dance class is relevant, fun and
interactive for many learning abilities.
Cost: $500 for 5 workshops or $1000 for 10 workshops
