Overview
Partners in our Future
As with any successful not-for-profit performing arts organization, The National Ballet of Canada depends on support from many quarters. Federal and provincial grants provide an essential foundation, while subscriptions and single ticket sales, combined with fundraising revenue is extraordinarily important.
Gifts to the Endowment Foundation, however, help create a critical and sustained source of funding that ensures the National Ballet’s future financial stability. Funds in the Endowment Foundation are held in perpetuity; the income derived from these investments provides a long-term and predictable source of support to finance ongoing needs.
Established in 1999, the National Ballet’s Endowment Foundation currently manages over $40 million in investments, raised through the generosity of private donors, corporate gifts and government matching programmes. In 2011/12 the Endowment provided a grant of $1.26 million to the National Ballet.
The gift you make to the Endowment Foundation is an investment in the future of the National Ballet. A strong endowment will ensure the National Ballet maintains the highest standard of artistic excellence, develops and supports our talented artists, produces innovative repertoire and shares this repertoire with audiences for years to come.
We invite you to be a part of our future with an investment in the Endowment Foundation or with the establishment of a named fund.

Named Funds
Provide a lasting legacy of your commitment to The National Ballet of Canada.
Help provide a lasting legacy to the National Ballet while ensuring that your commitment of support is celebrated.
Named Funds can be established now with current gifts or later with estate proceeds directed to the fund through a directive in your will. A Named Fund may be designated to support a specific area of the National Ballet's activities that is of special interest to you, such as Dancers, New Productions, Touring or Education and Outreach. Funds may also be unrestricted to support areas of greatest need, or may be directed to new initiatives in consultation with The National Ballet of Canada.
In appreciation of your dedication, the National Ballet will provide continued acknowledgement of your Named Fund and your generosity in establishing it.
We would be pleased to meet with you to discuss the creation of a Named Fund within the Endowment. Please contact:

Create Your Legacy with The National Ballet of Canada
Planning a legacy gift to the National Ballet demonstrates not only your love of ballet but also an investment in its continued success. Your commitment for the future will celebrate the beauty, athleticism and grace that inspire and move you today.
A legacy gift allows you the satisfaction and joy of knowing that you are contributing to the ongoing success while not affecting your income during your lifetime. In addition, a legacy gift, such as a bequest in your will or a gift of life insurance, may provide immediate or deferred tax benefits to you and can be customized to suit your personal goals and financial considerations.
