Legacy Gifts

Gift Planning

Create Your Legacy with The National Ballet of Canada

The National Ballet of Canada has a strong legacy as a steward of the world’s repertoire of classical and contemporary ballet. This legacy has been built on the successful partnerships between our artists and our most cherished donors and supporters.

Planning a legacy gift to the National Ballet demonstrates not only your love of ballet but also an investment in its continued success. Your commitment for the future will celebrate the beauty, athleticism and grace that inspire and move you today.

A legacy gift allows you the satisfaction and joy of knowing that you are contributing to ongoing success while not affecting your income during your lifetime. In addition, a legacy gift, such as a bequest in your will or a gift of life insurance, may provide immediate or deferred tax benefits to you and can be customized to suit your personal goals and financial considerations.

In appreciation, the National Ballet invites you to join the Celia Franca Society to recognize you during your lifetime for your thoughtful generosity.

Bequests

A bequest demonstrates not only your love of ballet but a commitment to its future.
Leaving a gift in your will is a way to ensure your legacy – and that of the National Ballet – continues for generations to come. It is a generous way to continue your support of the company, and possibly a way to make a significant gift that might not have been possible during your lifetime.

Your bequest, whether large or small, can be directed either to the National Ballet’s current priorities or be invested to benefit future generations. Depending on your wishes for how you want your bequest to have the greatest impact, leaving your gift to The National Ballet of Canada will support the present season and artists, or a gift to The National Ballet of Canada, Endowment Foundation will create an investment whose giving endures for the future.

Testimonials

Peng Chiang on her gift of life insurance

A gift of life insurance is an extension of my current involvement and giving. It seems a relatively painless way of contributing, especially because I feel so passionately about the ballet. It doesn’t matter how old you are – if there are things in your life you care about and want to carry on after your lifetime, a legacy gift helps ensure that they can continue so that others can discover them in the future.

Jim and Maureen Dunn on leaving a bequest in their wills

Jim: We want to leave something to the ballet because we've enjoyed it so much over the years. We want to help preserve its legacy in the future.
Maureen: I think people should leave donations to organizations they believe in. Being retired, we don't have as much income now but we have assets we can leave to the ballet. Anyone can do it!
