Biography
James Applewhite was born in Sacramento, California. He started dancing at age 14 and trained at American Ballet Theatre’s Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School in New York City, the Howard W. Blake High School for the Performing Arts and America’s Ballet School, both in Tampa, Florida. Mr. Applewhite joined the National Ballet of Canada as an Apprentice in 2010.
With the National Ballet, Mr. Applewhite performed in The Nutcracker, Cinderella and Don Quixote as well as in the North American premiere of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
In 2009, Mr. Applewhite received the Northern Trust Award for Excellence from American Ballet Theatre’s Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School.
