Biography

Giorgio Galli was born in Carate Brianza, Italy. He trained at La Scala Ballet School in Milan and The Royal Ballet School in London. In 2009, Mr. Galli became a YOU dance Apprentice and joined The National Ballet of Canada in 2010.

Mr. Galli danced the roles of Laertes and Horatio in the North American premiere of Hamlet by Kevin O’Day and Diamond Man in The Sleeping Beauty. His repertoire includes Swan Lake, Cinderella, Onegin, Don Quixote, The Seagull, The Nutcracker, La Fille mal gardée, Elite Syncopations, Theme and Variation, the second detail, West Side Story Suite, Emergence and Chroma.  

He also danced in the world premiere of Romeo and Juliet by Alexei Ratmansky and the North American premiere Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Christopher Wheeldon.  

During his training, Mr. Galli received a full scholarship to The Royal Ballet School. He was awarded the Worshipful Company of Gold and Silver Wyre Drawers Award, the Choreographic Development Award and the John McAsIan Family Trust Prize.
