James Applewhite was born in Sacramento, California.
He trained at American Ballet Theatre’s Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School in
New York City, the Howard W. Blake High School for the Performing Arts and America’s Ballet
School, both in Tampa, Florida.
Mr. Applewhite joined The National Ballet of Canada as a RBC Apprentice in 2010
and joined the Corps de Ballet in 2012.
Mr. Applewhite’s repertoire includes The Sleeping Beauty, Giselle,
Romeo and Juliet, Cinderella, Don Quixote, The Nutcracker,
Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, La Fille mal gardée. Carmen and Theme and
Recently, he performed in the Canadian premiere of Nijinsky by John Neumeier.
