Biography

Rui Huang was born in Shenzhen, China. She trained at the Shenzhen Arts School, joined Washington Ballet in 2006 and The National Ballet of Canada in 2011.

With other companies, Ms. Huang’s repertoire includes Don Quixote, The Nutcracker, Cinderella, Carmen, Le Corsaire, The Four Temperaments, Rooster and In The Upper Room.

Ms. Huang received scholarships from The Jean M. Wong School of Ballet and the Washington School of Ballet. She won third place at The Ninth Asian Pacific International Ballet Competition and won first place at The Seventh National Ballet Competition of China in 2003. She received the Outstanding Performance Award at The Third CCTV Dance Competition in China and a bronze medal at the World Ballet Competition in 2009 in Orlando.
