Melissa Mitro began her dancing career at the age of 3 and competed in all genres of dance including ballet, lyrical, jazz, tap, contemporary, highland and salsa. A winner of many awards in major competitions across Canada and the USA, Ms. Mitro was the second place finisher on CTV’s So You Think You Can Dance Canada (Season 4). Her SYTYCDC salsa duet, choreographed by Gustavo Vargus, received the 2012 International World Dance Award for Outstanding Choreography Television Live/Performance.
Ms. Mitro has worked with many notable choreographers, such as Mia Michaels, Stacey Tookey and Mandy Moore. Ms Mitro is also a sought after teacher and has worked at many different conventions such as JUMP, iDance, Evolve and Drop Dance. When not performing and teaching, Melissa travels the country judging competitions and teaching workshops motivating and inspiring young dancers in the art of dance.
