Natasha Frid is one of Canada’s rare dance notators. She is currently the notator and rehearsal coordinator for Compagnie Marie Chouinard.
When not giving pre-show talks or writing blog entries, Frid can be found in the Jackman Lounge, sharing inside stories with the Patrons’ Council - a new initiative she introduced at the request of The National Ballet of Canada.
Bilingual in French and English, Frid trained in dance notation at the Conservatoire de Paris. She went on to notate for Paul-André Fortier, Danny Grossman and the complete works of Peggy Baker’s renowned educational packages: The Choreographer’s Trust.
Frid has coordinated education programs for Dance Collection Danse, DanceWorks and Dreamwalker Dance Company. She tutors for the Royal Academy of Dance’s Certificate of Ballet Teaching Studies, is Past Chair for The Dance Current magazine, and runs her own piano studio in Toronto.
Natasha Frid is a member of the Canadian Alliance of Dance Artists, the Canadian Society for Dance Studies, and the Canadian Dance Assembly.
