Biography
Jenna Savella was born in Vancouver,
British Columbia and trained at Dance West in Vancouver and Canada’s
National Ballet School.
She joined the company in 2004 and was promoted to Second Soloist in 2009.
Ms.
Savella’s repertoire includes the Snow Queen in The Nutcracker, Autumn in The
Four Seasons, Italian Princess in Swan Lake and Gemini, Breadcrumb and
the Finger Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty. She has also performed in Cinderella,
Don Quixote, An Italian Straw Hat, Symphony in C, The Four
Temperaments, The Four Seasons, Russian Seasons and
Emergence.
Recently,
Ms. Savella danced in the world premiere of Romeo and Juliet by Alexei
Ratmansky and the North American premieres of Alice’s Adventures in
Wonderland by Christopher Wheeldon and Hamlet by Kevin O’Day.
She
was the recipient of a British Columbia Arts Council Scholarship and the
Vancouver Foundation Scholarship. In 2006 and 2007, Ms. Savella was awarded the
National Ballet’s Patron Award of Merit.
