Becoming Alice

When Alice's Adventures in Wonderland made its North American premiere at The National Ballet of Canada in 2011, Jillian Vanstone danced the title role on opening night to rave reviews, earning both a promotion to Principal Dancer as well as the Rolex Dancers First Award for her performance. Alice continues to be one of Jillian’s favourite roles.

Performing as Alice is a challenge, demanding perfect technique, acting chops and a huge amount of stamina – Alice is onstage for practically the entire running time.
