Earlier this month, The National Ballet of Canada toured to Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russia, for the first time in the company’s history. Russian audiences embraced and applauded the company, performing at Diana Vishneva’s Context festival of contemporary dance to sold-out houses. The National Ballet performed two Canadian works, Crystal Pite’s Emergence and Guillaume Côté’s Being and Nothingness along with American Justin Peck’s Paz de la Jolla to enthusiastic response.
