The National Ballet of Canada’s mission is to perform classical and contemporary ballet at the highest level presenting a diverse range of repertoire to a wide audience in our home theatre at The Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts and through online programming. We commission new works as well as produce the highest quality productions of the best works in the classical cannon.

Help us to make ballet more accessible and to promote creative expression in our community through a range of education and engagement programmes designed to inspire a love of dance. Our programmes range from in-school initiatives, inclusive ticket pricing programmes and on site performances for individuals with special needs.

The National Ballet aims to always attract, nurture and retain the most talented dancers and orchestra members. The company is currently home to 62 dancers, 12 apprentices and 66 musicians from Canada and around the world.

Every year the National Ballet continues to create thrilling new works that push the boundaries of the art form, working with the world’s best choreographers, nurturing Canadian artistic talent and collaborating with artists across disciplines to bring new productions to our audiences.

In service to our mission to promote Canadian artistry, we strive to showcase our talent and creativity on the world stage through tours and livestreaming. In the past few years, the company has received acclaim for tours to Washington, D.C. New York City, Paris, Hamburg, Moscow, St. Petersburg, London and Ottawa. We also host an annual livestream event for schools across Canada as part of our YOU dance community engagement programme.
