World Ballet Day LIVE
The first-ever World Ballet Day LIVE took place in 2014. The unprecedented collaboration between The Australian Ballet, Bolshoi Ballet, The Royal Ballet, The National Ballet of Canada and San Francisco Ballet gave viewers around the world a behind the scenes look at five of the world’s leading ballet companies. In 2016, the project evolved and was broadcast live on Facebook reaching even more viewers across the globe.
This year, World Ballet Day takes place on Thursday, October 29. The National Ballet of Canada joins ballet companies around the world for a global celebration of dance. This year’s event includes livestreams from The Australian Ballet, The Bolshoi Ballet and The Royal Ballet as well as beautiful ballet content from some of the world’s top companies.
The National Ballet will present a special viewing of Expansive Dances, a triptych of stunning dance films created in isolation by Choreographic Associates Guillaume Côté, Alysa Pires and Robert Binet, directed by Ben Shirinian.
Join the celebration on our Facebook on October 29, 2020 at 9:30 am ET. For the full schedule of participating dance companies, visit worldballetday.com. #WorldBalletDay
