Health and Wellness Industry Workshop

The National Ballet of Canada invites SHSM students to join arts industry and health and wellness professionals at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts for a hands-on workshop, a performance and backstage tour on Thursday, March 1, 2018.

Students will be lead though a SHSM health and wellness workshop by experienced staff of the National Ballet’s Health and Wellness team. This workshop will give insightful information about a career in the health and wellness sector as well as the performing arts.
In addition students will attend a matinee performance of Made in Canada, a trio of ballets by some of the finest Canadian choreographers at work today and experience a backstage tour of the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts.


Led by Paul Papoutsakis, Athletic Therapist of The National Ballet of Canada and Je-an Salas, Resident Pilates teacher, this hands-on interactive workshop gives a detailed overview of the responsibilities and requirements of the health and wellness team in a large arts organization.


Backstage Tour

Led by James Thorney, Director of Production since 1989 and Jeff Morris, Stage Manager of The National Ballet of Canada since 1995. Students will get an insightful look backstage at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts.

Where: The Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts
Student: $75 (Includes workshop, tour, lunch and performance)
Teacher: $15 (Includes lunch and performance for one teacher per group)
Payment: Payment can be made by credit card or school cheque

9:00: Check-in
9:30: Tour backstage and workshops
12:30: Lunch will be provided
2:00: Attend matinee performance
4:00: End of day
