In the Community

September 2017 and April 2018

YOU dance frequently presents to children and adults with developmental challenges as well as those undergoing treatment for illness at pediatric hospitals. This year, YOU dance will partner with social services, support agencies and schools and host two performances on September 16, 2017 and April 21, 2018.

May 14 to 18, 2018

Following the success of the second YOU dance residency in Regent Park at the Daniels Spectrum, which reached over 3,000 students and community members, The National Ballet of Canada will once again bring YOU dance to Regent Park at the Daniels Spectrum May 14 – 18, 2018.

The residency will include four interrelated activities. Students and teachers in Grades 3 to 8 from schools that serve Regent Park will participate in movement workshops. The workshops will be followed by afternoon YOU dance performances for the students at the Daniels Spectrum.

Leading up to the week-long residency, students will create and perform in their own work, under the guidance of dance educator Annemarie Cabri. There will be a free evening performance of YOU dance and the pieces created by students for their families and neighbours of Regent Park.
