The Nutcracker is Sold Out!
500 Specially-Priced $30 Tickets Offered to Community Partners
December 8, 2023… Hope Muir, Joan and Jerry Lozinski Artistic Director of The National Ballet of Canada, today announced that James Kudelka’s The Nutcracker has sold out before opening night, including the additional show that was added due to demand on December 31 at 1:00 pm. Only a few single tickets remain available for the entire run. Toronto’s most joyful holiday experience will welcome a record 57,300 people to this year’s performances!
For the New Year’s Eve performance, the National Ballet offered 500 specially-priced $30 tickets to the community through our partner organizations, Canoo and TAPA. Canoo, an organization built and managed by the Institute of Canadian Citizenship, offers newcomers to Canada access to experiences and events. Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts (TAPA) works with 128 social service agencies through their outreach program, citySPECIAL.

The final performance on December 31 will feature Principal Dancers Naoya Ebe and Tina Pereira in the roles of Peter/The Nutcracker and the Sugar Plum Fairy. First Soloist Alexandra MacDonald will dance the role of the Snow Queen, First Soloist Jack Bertinshaw will dance the role of Uncle Nikolai and First Soloist Jordana Daumec will dance the role of Baba.
The Nutcracker is choreographed by James Kudelka with music by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, set and costume design by Santo Loquasto and lighting design by Jennifer Tipton.
