Victoria May Vine

Victoria Vine

It is with great sadness that the National Ballet acknowledges the passing of Victoria (Vicky) Vine. Victoria May Vine (nee) Baker, born May 24,1920, passed away peacefully at Ina Grafton Gage Home on December 11, 2018 in her 99th year. Victoria worked at the National Ballet of Canada retiring in her 77th year as a top seamstress whose embroidery adorned the costumes of principal dancers for over 33 years. Above all, she was most famous for her flaky pastries, also known as the "Butter Tart Lady". Victoria will be remembered fondly.
