  2. Ayano started ballet when she was five years old in Japan. She had been working with Hong Kong Ballet for three years before she joined The National Ballet of Canada in 2019.

  5. With Hong Kong Ballet, she danced such roles as Odette/Odile in Ballet Classics for Children: Swan Lake, Odalesque in Le Corsaire and Spanish Doll/French Doll in The Nutcracker.

  9. For the National Ballet, Ayano has danced in The Sleeping Beauty, Romeo and Juliet, Giselle, The Nutcracker, Tarentella and Etudes.

  12. In 2021, Ayano made her debut in George Balanchine’s Tarentella at Harbourfront Centre in Toronto.

Full Biography

Ayano Haneishi was born in Chiba, Japan and trained at Ecole de Ballet Pieds Nus in Japan and New National Theatre Ballet, Tokyo in Japan. Ayano danced with Hong Kong Ballet in the Corps de Ballet before joining The National Ballet of Canada’s Corps de Ballet in 2019. 

Ayano’s repertoire with the National Ballet includes Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty, Romeo and Juliet, The Nutcracker, Serenade, Symphony in C, Elite Syncopations and Concerto. Ayano’s repertoire with Hong Kong Ballet includes Odette/Odile in Ballet Classics for Children: Swan Lake, Odalesques in Le Corsaire and Spanish Doll/French Doll in The Nutcracker
