Ethan Watts was born in San Francisco, California and trained at San Francisco Ballet School and at The Academy of Ballet San Francisco in California. He joined The National Ballet of Canada as a RBC Apprentice in 2013 and became a member of the Corps de Ballet in 2014.
Recently, Mr. Watts debuted as Stiva in the North American premiere of Anna Karenina and Uncle Nikolai in The Nutcracker. His repertoire also includes Rothbart in Swan Lake, an Icicle in The Nutcracker, the lead role in Carousel (A Dance) as well as roles in The Sleeping Beauty, Romeo and Juliet, Giselle, The Winter’s Tale, Nijinsky, Cinderella, Onegin, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, A Streetcar Named Desire, Pinocchio, Le Petit Prince, Manon, La Sylphide, The Man in Black, Piano Concerto #1, Being and Nothingness and Paz de la Jolla.
In 2015, Mr. Watts represented the National Ballet in The Eleventh International Competition for The Erik Bruhn Prize.
