Biography

Jaclyn Oakley was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and trained at the North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem and at Boston Ballet School’s Trainee Program in Massachusetts. Ms. Oakley joined The National Ballet of Canada as a RBC Apprentice in 2009 and danced with Ballet Jörgen in 2013 before re-joining the National Ballet’s Corps de Ballet in 2014.

Ms. Oakley’s repertoire includes First Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty as well as roles in Swan Lake, Romeo and Juliet, Giselle, The Nutcracker, Cinderella, Onegin, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, The Winter’s Tale, Nijinsky, Anna Karenina, The Merry Widow, Le Petit Prince, Pinocchio, A Streetcar Named Desire, La Sylphide, Manon, Apollo, The Dream, Paquita, The Concert, Allegro Brillante, Carousel (A Dance), The Four Seasons, The Four Temperaments, Genus, Piano Concerto #1, Emergence and Paz de la Jolla.

Ms. Oakley was awarded the Patron Award of Merit in 2017.
