Biography

Jaclyn Oakley was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and trained at the North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem and at Boston Ballet School’s Trainee Program in Massachusetts. Ms. Oakley joined The National Ballet of Canada as a RBC Apprentice in 2009 and danced with Ballet Jörgen in 2013 before re-joining the National Ballet’s Corps de Ballet in 2014.

Recently, Ms. Oakley made her debut as the First Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty. Her repertoire includes Swan Lake, Romeo and Juliet, Onegin, Cinderella, Nijinsky, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Le Petit Prince, The Winter’s Tale, Giselle, The Nutcracker, La Sylphide, Pinocchio, A Streetcar Named Desire, Manon, Genus, The Concert, Allegro Brillante, Carousel (A Dance), The Four Temperaments and Piano Concerto #1.

Ms. Oakley was awarded the Patron Award of Merit in 2017.
