  2. Tirion began dancing in Hong Kong at the age of four. Her successful participation in ballet competitions motivated her to pursue a career in dance and she went on to be a member of Hong Kong Ballet.

  15. In 2021, Tirion appeared in two commissioned films for the company’s virtual season: Robert Binet’s The Dreamer’s Ever Leave You and The Sleeping Beauty Variations, in which she dances the role of Fourth Fairy, choreographed by Rudolf Nureyev.

 

 

Full Biography

Tirion Law was born in Hong Kong and trained at The New Zealand School of Dance. Tirion danced with Hong Kong Ballet and joined The National Ballet of Canada as a member of the Corps de Ballet in 2018 and was promoted to Second Soloist in 2022. 

Most recently, Tirion made her debut as Juliet in Romeo and Juliet and performed in the Canadian premiere of David Dawson’s Anima Animus. She has danced the role of Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker and Celia, The Neapolitan Dance in Swan Lake, Third and Fourth Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty and Blossom in Cinderella. Her repertoire also includes Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Anna Karenina, A Streetcar Named Desire, The Dream, The Second Detail, The Vertiginous Thrill of Exactitude, Angels’ Atlas, Serenade, Symphony in C, Elite Syncopations, Concerto, Paquita, Crepuscular and Skyward.  

In 2010, Tirion was awarded two gold medals at The Star Award Competition in Hong Kong and in 2012 won the Asian Grand Prix in Hong Kong. In 2015, Tirion was the first runner up at the Alana Haines Australasian Ballet Competition, and in 2022 she received the Patron Award of Merit.
