Biography

Trygve Cumpston was born in Des Moines, Iowa and trained at the School of Classical Ballet and Dance in Des Moines, Iowa, Orlando Ballet School in Florida and San Francisco Ballet School in California. He joined The National Ballet of Canada as a RBC Apprentice in 2012 and became a member of the Corps de Ballet in 2013.

Trygve has danced such roles as Benno in Swan Lake and L'Allumeur in Le Petit Prince. His repertoire includes The Sleeping Beauty, Romeo and Juliet, Giselle, The Nutcracker, Cinderella, Onegin, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, The Winter’s Tale, Nijinsky, Anna Karenina, Frame by Frame, Pinocchio, A Streetcar Named Desire, Manon, La Sylphide, The Dream, Marguerite and Armand, Etudes, The Four Seasons, The Concert, Allegro Brillante, Opus 19/The Dreamer, Approximate Sonata 2016, Piano Concerto #1, Angels' Atlas, Being and Nothingness, Paz de la Jolla, Night and Orpheus Alive.
