Zhanna Vaszilenko grew up in a small town in the far east of the former USSR, attending a special music school from a young age. She completed her musical education at the Vladivostok Music College and Novosibirsk State Conservatory, regularly participated in competitions, developing as a performer in solo and chamber music. Zhanna has performed internationally, including in Hungary, Russia and the US.
As a ballet pianist, Zhanna began her career in the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre in 1986, and joined the Hungarian State Opera, Budapest in 1992. She has worked with conductors, ballet masters and artists from around the world in both classical and contemporary ballet. Zhanna has extensive experience playing for stage, in the orchestra and for ballet class and is a passionate educator and piano teacher. She has been a pianist at The National Ballet of Canada since 2019.
