Nan Wang was born in Dalian, China and
trained at the Xu Yan Dance School in China, the Goh Ballet Academy in
Vancouver, British Columbia and Canada’s National Ballet School. Mr. Wang
joined The National Ballet of Canada as a RBC Apprentice in 2004 and became a
member of the Corps de Ballet in 2005.
Mr. Wang’s repertoire includes the role of
Benno in Swan Lake, Diamond Man
in The Sleeping Beauty and Icicle in The Nutcracker as well as
roles in Giselle, Romeo and Juliet, The Taming of the Shrew,
Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Nijnsky, The Seagull,
Hamlet, Carmen, The Four Seasons, The Four Temperaments,
Polyphonia and Emergence. Recently, Mr. Wang danced in the
North American premiere of Spectre de la
Rose by Marco Goecke.
In 2008, Mr. Wang was awarded the Patrons' Award of Merit by the Patron’s Council Committee of The National Ballet of
Canada. In 2004, he was a guest artist with the Bermuda Civic Ballet and in
2009 he joined Goh Ballet on their China tour.
