Nan Wang was born in Dalian, China
where he trained at the Xu Yan Dance School. He also trained at the Goh Ballet Academy in Vancouver
and Canada’s National Ballet School.
Mr. Wang joined The National Ballet of Canada as an Apprentice in 2004 and became a member of the Corps de
Ballet in 2005.
Mr. Wang’s repertoire includes the role of
Benno in Swan Lake, Diamond Man
in The Sleeping Beauty and Icicle in The Nutcracker as well as
roles in Giselle, Romeo and Juliet, The Taming of the Shrew,
Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, The Seagull, Hamlet, Carmen,
The Four Seasons, The Four Temperaments, Polyphonia and
Emergence. Recently, Mr. Wang danced in the Canadian premiere of Nijinsky by John Neumeier.
In 2008, Mr. Wang was awarded the Patron
Award of Merit by the Patron’s Council Committee of The National Ballet of
Canada. In 2004, he was a guest artist with the Bermuda Civic Ballet and in
2009 he joined Goh Ballet on their China tour.
