Matthieu Pagès was born in Annecy, France and trained at Paris Opéra Ballet School and Studio Annecy in France and Geneva Dance Center and Tanz Akademie Zürich in Switzerland. He joined The National Ballet of Canada as a Corps de Ballet member in 2023.
Most recently, Matthieu made his debut as Puppetmaster in Will Tuckett’s Pinocchio and L’Abbé in Helen Pickett’s Emma Bovary. He also performed in the world premiere of Procession, choreographed by Bobbi Jene Smith and Or Schraiber, and the North American premiere of Crystal Pite’s Flight Pattern. His repertoire with the National Ballet includes Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Don Quixote, Diamonds, MADDADDAM, Angels’ Atlas, Suite en Blanc, UtopiVerse and Kismet.
His repertoire with other companies includes Nussknacker und Mausekönig, Anna Karenina and Monteverdi by Christian Spuck, How I know you by Leo Mujic and The Cellist by Cathy Marston.
