Beckanne Sisk

Beckanne Sisk was born in Longview, Texas. She trained at Longview Ballet Theater and The Rock School for Dance Education. She joined Ballet West II in 2010 before being promoted to the main company in 2011 and then Principal Dancer in 2015. In 2022, Beckanne joined Houston Ballet as a Principal Dancer and in 2025, joined The National Ballet of Canada as a Principal Dancer. 

Beckanne is a consummate artist, combining dazzling technique, exquisite lines and emotional range. Most recently, she debuted as the Blue Fairy in Will Tuckett’s Pinocchio, in Thème Varié in Serge Lifar’s Suite en Blanc and performed in the North American premiere of Crystal Pite's Flight Pattern. Beckanne’s repertoire with The National Ballet of Canada includes Perdita in The Winter’s Tale, Snow Queen in The Nutcracker and MADDADDAM.

Beckanne has performed the principal roles in John Cranko's Romeo and Juliet and Onegin, John Neumeier’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and The Little Mermaid, Sir Frederick Ashton’s Cinderella and Kenneth MacMillan’s Mayerling. She has also performed classics such as Giselle, The Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote and Swan Lake. Original roles have been created on her by many renowned choreographers such as Stanton Welch, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Nicolo Fonte, Val Caniparoli, Edwaard Liang and Matthew Neenan. 

In addition to her dancing, Beckanne was featured on the CW’s Breaking Pointe television show for two seasons. 

She won the Bronze Medal in the Beijing International Ballet Competition in 2012 and was chosen for the 2012 Princess Grace Dance Fellowship Award. As a student, Beckanne won the Jerome Robbins Award in 2007 and competed at the Youth America Grand Prix winning Gold and Bronze medals.
