A trilogy of three new works: a resurgence, a revelation, a rebirth. The Beginning of Forever follows the huge success of both Anima Animus and The Four Seasons as David Dawson’s first commission for The National Ballet of Canada in his role as Resident Choreographer. The full evening work explores the elemental forces that shape us – life, love and ascension through the prism of movement, memory and meditation. Set to a new commissioned score by internationally renowned composer Peter Gregson and brought to life in a visually striking world designed by Eno Henze (set), Yumiko Takeshima (costumes) and Bert Dalhuysen (lighting), The Beginning of Forever is a choreographic odyssey through loss and longing, dissolution and return.

Lead philanthropic support for The Beginning of Forever is generously provided by an Anonymous Presenting Donor.
