Brenna Flaherty was born in Boston, Massachusetts and trained at Boston Ballet School in Massachusetts. Brenna joined The National Ballet of Canada as a RBC Apprentice in 2016 and was promoted to Second Soloist in 2021.
Brenna has danced lead roles including Sugar Plum Fairy and Sheep in The Nutcracker, Kitty in Anna Karenina, Elizabeth in Swan Lake, principal female roles in Rubies and Emeralds, Other Stepsister in Cinderella, two principal female roles in Suite en Blanc and a featured role in Anima Animus. Her repertoire includes The Sleeping Beauty, Onegin, Romeo and Juliet, Giselle, Don Quixote, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, The Merry Widow, A Streetcar Named Desire, The Dream, MADDADDAM, Pinocchio, Serenade, Diamonds, Symphony in C, Concerto, Rhapsody, Paquita, Elite Syncopations, Angels’ Atlas, Flight Pattern, The Four Seasons, After the Rain, Emma Bovary, Passion, Paz de la Jolla, Crepuscular, On Solid Ground, King’s Fall and Kismet.
