Tene Ward

Tene Ward was born in Sydney, Australia and trained at Canberra Festival Ballet School in Canberra, Australia, The Australian Ballet School and European School of Ballet in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Tene joined The National Ballet of Canada in 2018 as an RBC Apprentice and was promoted to Second Soloist in 2026.

Most recently, Tene performed in the world premiere of Alyssa Martin’s Gush at The Royal Ballet’s International Draft Works in London, England and in the North American premiere of the work at MAD HOT BALLET in June. She also performed in the world premiere of Procession, choreographed by Bobbi Jene Smith and Or Schraiber and the North American premiere of Crystal Pite’s Flight Pattern. Her repertoire includes Spanish Princess and Tall Swan in Swan Lake, Bee in The Nutcracker, Pas de Six in Giselle, Kitri’s Friend in Don Quixote, Petal in Cinderella and La Sieste in Suite en Blanc. She has also danced roles in The Sleeping Beauty, Romeo and Juliet, Anna Karenina, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, A Streetcar Named Desire, MADDADDAM, Pinocchio, Diamonds, Rubies, Serenade, Symphony in C, Concerto, The Dream, Paquita, Rhapsody, Angels’ Atlas, The Four Seasons, Emma Bovary, Passion, Morpheus’ Dream, The Collective Agreement, UtopiVerse, Crepuscular, Alleged Dances, The Dreamers Ever Leave You, On Solid Ground, Reverence and Kismet.
