Lucy Carter is an Olivier Award-winning lighting designer, working internationally in theatre, opera and dance. She is a two-time winner of the Knight of Illumination Award for Dance in 2008 for Chroma and 2015 for Woolf Works (The Royal Ballet). A close creative collaborator of Wayne McGregor, they have worked together for many years across a multitude of works for both Company Wayne McGregor and The Royal Ballet, works include DYAD 1929, Deepstaria, Infra, Woolf Works, Yugen, The Dante Project, McGREGOR + MUGLER, Multiverse, Chroma and Autobiography.
Opera lighting includes: Festen (Finnish National Opera, Royal Opera House), Hansel and Gretel (Houston Grand Opera, Royal Opera House), Wozzeck (New National Theatre, Tokyo), Alcina, Mavra and Pierrot Lunaire (Royal Opera House), The Turn of the Screw (Royal Danish Opera), Le Nozze di Figaro (Paris Opera), Kát’a Kabanová (Rome Opera, Royal Opera House), The Cunning Little Vixen, Orphée, Salome and The Dream of Gerontius (English National Opera), Fiddler on the Roof (Grange Park Opera), La finta giardiniera (Glyndebourne Festival, Teatro alla Scala) and Peter Grimes (Aldeburgh Festival).
