Apart from writing soundtracks for TV dramas such as the hugely popular BBC series Call the Midwife, Peter Salem is increasingly creating works for contemporary ballet.
He has scored 11 full-length ballets since first working with Annabelle Lopez-Ochoa on the critically acclaimed A Streetcar Named Desire for Scottish Ballet. Since then, he has written the music for Broken Wings (English National Ballet), Frida (Dutch National Ballet), The Little Prince (BalletX), Doña Perón (Ballet Hispanico) and the upcoming Gentleman Jack (Northern Ballet and Finnish National Opera and Ballet), all choreographed by Annabelle. Peter has also written music for Camino Real (Atlanta Ballet), The Crucible (Scottish Ballet) and Lady Macbeth (Dutch National Ballet), all choreographed by Helen Pickett. |
