Ravi Deepres

Ravi Deepres is an award-winning artist, photographer and film maker with an international reputation for focusing on the intersection of still and moving image. A natural visual choreographic approach, themes of identity, psychology, social conditioning, archives and scientific / cosmological research constantly influence his practice. Expressed through conceptual documentary, fashion and kinesthesia, his work explores primal and sensory experience, embracing the potential of collaboration, pushing the boundaries of innovative technology in creating new art and design languages.

He collaborates frequently with choreographer Wayne McGregor on numerous projects from film design for dance to photographic and film creations, most recently including On The Other Earth (Venice Biennale), Woolf Works (The Royal Ballet, American Ballet Theatre), UniVerse: A Dark Crystal Odyssey and The Raven Girl. Other film design work includes Biennale Danza 2022/23/24: International Festival of Contemporary Dance, AfteRite, LORE (Teatro alla La Scala) and Biennale Danza 2022: Eden (National Theatre Prague).

Ravi has also worked with globally renowned choreographers, directors and musicians such as Saburo Teshigawara, Phyllida Lloyd, Michael Clark, Zoviet France, Shobana Jeyasingh and Miranda Cromwell.
