Brenna Flaherty was born in Boston, Massachusetts and trained at Boston Ballet School in Massachusetts. Brenna joined The National Ballet of Canada as a RBC Apprentice in 2016 and was promoted to Second Soloist in 2021.
Most recently, Brenna debuted as Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker, Kitty in Christian Spuck’s Anna Karenina and danced Elizabeth in Karen Kain’s Swan Lake. Brenna has danced lead roles including a principal female role in Rubies and Emeralds, Other Stepsister in Cinderella, two principal female roles in Suite en Blanc, Sheep in The Nutcracker and a featured role in Anima Animus. Her repertoire includes The Sleeping Beauty, Onegin, Romeo and Juliet, Giselle, Don Quixote, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, The Merry Widow, A Streetcar Named Desire, The Dream, Serenade, Diamonds, Symphony in C, Concerto, Suite en Blanc, Rhapsody, Paquita, Elite Syncopations, Angels’ Atlas, The Four Seasons, After the Rain, Emma Bovary, Passion, Paz de la Jolla, Crepuscular, On Solid Ground and King’s Fall.
