David Preciado was born in Los Angeles, California and trained at Los Angeles Ballet Academy and San Francisco Ballet School. David danced with Charlotte Ballet from 2017, before joining the National Ballet as a Corps de Ballet Member in 2022 and was promoted to Second Soloist in 2025.
David’s repertoire with the National Ballet includes the principal male role in the Canadian premiere of Rhapsody, Amour in Don Quixote, third movement principal man in Symphony in C, first movement principal man in Concerto and L’Abbé in Emma Bovary. He has also danced roles in Giselle, Swan Lake, Anna Karenina, The Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet, Cinderella, Onegin, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, MADDADDAM, Suite en Blanc, Diamonds, Rubies, Frame by Frame, Symphony in C, Diamonds, Rubies, The Four Seasons, Frame by Frame, Angels’ Atlas, UtopiVerse, Grand Mirage, Alleged Dances and King’s Fall. While at Charlotte Ballet, David performed in works by Medhi Walerski, Peter Chu, Christian Spuck, Jerome Robbins, Val Caniparoli, Helen Pickett and Rena Butler.
In 2024, David was the recipient of Patron Award of Merit by the Patrons’ Council Committee of The National Ballet of Canada.
