Isaac Wright was born in Belleville, Ontario and trained at Quinte Ballet School of Canada in Belleville, Ontario and Canada’s National Ballet School. Isaac joined The National Ballet of Canada as a RBC Apprentice in 2015 and danced with Ballet Jörgen and Les Grands Ballets before re-joining the National Ballet in 2019. He was promoted to Second Soloist in 2024.
Most recently, Isaac danced in the world premiere of Wayne McGregor’s MADDADDAM and the Canadian premiere of David Dawson’s Anima Animus and Alonzo King’s The Collective Agreement. Isaac’s repertoire includes Snow Trio in The Nutcracker, Pussycat in The Sleeping Beauty and roles in Swan Lake, Romeo and Juliet, Giselle, Cinderella, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, The Winter’s Tale, Anna Karenina, The Merry Widow, La Sylphide, Pinocchio, A Streetcar Named Desire, Elite Syncopations, Angels’ Atlas, Serenade, Etudes, Chaconne, Symphony in C, Piano Concerto #1, Petite Mort, Concerto, Marguerite and Armand, Crepuscular, Frame by Frame, Crepuscular, The Dreamers Ever Leave You, Orpheus Alive, On Solid Ground and 4 for 5.
Isaac was awarded Patrons Award of Merit in 2020 and the RBC Emerging Artist Award in 2016.
