Monika Haczkiewicz was born in Las Vegas, Nevada and trained at Nevada Ballet Theatre, Kwak Ballet Academy, Tara Foy’s Elite Ballet and Nevada School of Dance in Las Vegas, Nevada and Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet School. Monika danced with Atlanta Ballet before joining The National Ballet of Canada as a member of the Corps de Ballet in 2019 and was promoted to Second Soloist in 2025.
Most recently, Monika debuted as the Snow Queen in The Nutcracker, Princess Betsy Tverskaja in the North American premiere of Christian Spuck’s Anna Karenina and Spanish Dance in Swan Lake.
Monika’s repertoire with the National Ballet includes a Tall Girl in Rubies, Mercedes is Don Quixote, Petal in Cinderella as well as roles in The Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, Giselle, Romeo and Juliet, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Angels’ Atlas, Serenade, Suite en Blanc, Symphony in C, Anima Animus, The Four Seasons, Elite Syncopations, Concerto, Emma Bovary, Passion, The Collective Agreement and King’s Fall.
In 2024, Monika was the recipient of Patron Award of Merit by the Patrons’ Council Committee of The National Ballet of Canada and in 2015, Monika competed in the Youth America Grand Prix where she ranked second place in the senior division in the Las Vegas Semi-Finals.
