Biography

Charlotte Geeves is an accomplished cultural leader with extensive senior management experience across a range of arts organizations. Known for her strategic vision, deep commitment to the arts and passion for excellence, Charlotte possesses a rare ability to balance artistic, educational and commercial imperatives and brings a nuanced understanding of organizational operations and financial stewardship. She was appointed Executive Director of The National Ballet of Canada in July 2025 and will assume the role in September 2025.

Since 2019, Charlotte led Bristol Old Vic in the UK as Executive Director and Joint CEO and during her tenure, she successfully championed the cultural strength of Bristol in the region and UK arts sector, steering the organization through the pandemic and a change of artistic leadership while maintaining Bristol Old Vic’s commitment to creativity and producing new work in a challenging financial climate. Charlotte also spearheaded Bristol Old Vic’s environmental transformation, including the UK arts sector carbon literary training, and worked alongside Representation Matters on the development of EDI training and policy implementation for the company.

Prior to the Bristol Old Vic, Charlotte was the Chief Executive of Henley Festival where her transformational leadership resulted in a 40% increase in audiences and 30% increase in sponsorship and individual giving. She also held the positions of Festivals Manager for Wildscreen Film & TV Festival in the UK as well as Projects Manager and Interim Director of Programming at Sadler’s Wells Theatre in London.
