Welcome!
Our opening Triple Bill sets the tone for an ambitious year ahead, featuring two significant Canadian premieres and the launch of Guillaume Côté’s final season with The National Ballet of Canada after an extraordinary 26 years.
With Silent Screen, I am proud to introduce the famed choreographic partnership of Sol León and Paul Lightfoot to our repertoire. While Sol and Paul are enormously influential in their creative base in Europe, their work is not as well-known in North America. That begins to change with our presentation and Canadian premiere of Silent Screen, an acclaimed example of Sol and Paul’s mesmerizing theatrical language.
Guillaume’s solo Body of Work shows him in the dual role that he cherishes, as choreographer and dancer. I felt it was important to open Guillaume’s final season with a full expression of his artistry.
Rhapsody expands our repertoire of work by Sir Frederick Ashton on the occasion of Ashton Worldwide, a five-year festival celebrating the great choreographer’s legacy. A Canadian premiere, this tour de force ballet showcases the talent in our dancer roster and is certain to bring incredible energy to the stage.
Thank you so much for joining us. Enjoy the performance!
