Swan Lake

Welcome!
Swan Lake is one of the most iconic works in the classical canon and continues to inspire exciting new interpretations nearly 150 years after its debut. Having a bespoke version created especially for The National Ballet of Canada is a great honour, with the added significance of being staged by Artistic Director Emerita Karen Kain.
We first performed Karen’s Swan Lake in 2022, two years after its creation – a process documented in the award-winning film Swan Song. Our restaging process this season has provided opportunity to reflect and refine, as we continue the creative journey captured in the film and further develop this exquisite production.
Enjoy every moment!
Warmly,
Hope Muir,
