Olivier Award-winning director and choreographer Will Tuckett created Pinocchio for The National Ballet of Canada in 2017, based on the 19th-century tale about a wooden puppet who longs to be real. The heart of that story is love, as the fatherly Geppetto guides Pinocchio’s understanding of what it means to be human. Tuckett balances the moral aspects of the original story with heartwarming characters, magical stage effects and playful Canadiana, making Pinocchio a delightful experience for audiences of all ages.

Lead philanthropic support for Pinocchio is provided by The Walter Carsen New Creations Fund. Additional support is provided by Rosamond Ivey, Tim & Frances Price, an anonymous friend, The Volunteer Committee of The National Ballet of Canada and The Producers’ Circle (2017).

Please Note,

This production features theatrical haze and smoke, dry ice and a gunshot.
