Will Tuckett
Paul Englishby
Olivier Award-winning director and choreographer Will Tuckett created Pinocchio for The National Ballet of Canada in 2017, based on the 19th-century tale about a wooden puppet who longs to be real. The heart of that story is love, as the fatherly Geppetto guides Pinocchio’s understanding of what it means to be human. Tuckett balances the moral aspects of the original story with heartwarming characters, magical stage effects and playful Canadiana, making Pinocchio a delightful experience for audiences of all ages.
Lead philanthropic support for Pinocchio is provided by The Walter Carsen New Creations Fund, with additional support from an anonymous friend, Rosamond Ivey, Tim & Frances Price and The Volunteer Committee of The National Ballet of Canada with additional support by The Producers’ Circle (2017).
Casting will be announced in our eNewsletter, Ballet News, and on social media and will be posted here approximately two weeks prior to the opening. Please note, casting is always subject to change.
