Government support plays a vital role in enabling our artistic growth, expanding education and outreach and promoting Canadian culture both nationally and internationally. - In our 2023/24 season, we had a live audience reach of 165,000, with a total reach of 18 million people through both in person and digital activities
- Our company includes 76 dancers and 62 orchestra members and numerous guest artists
- For our 2023/24 season, we had expenses of $40.4 million
- Ticket and other sales and government support together cover only 57% of the cost of mounting our productions; philanthropy and donor support are essential for the continued creation of world-class performances, outreach programmes and the artistic excellence that defines our company
- The National Ballet has no debt or accumulated deficit
- Our Endowment Foundation currently has over $120 million in assets and contributes 12% of the budget annually
