Choreography

Bobbi Jene Smith and Or Schraiber

A landmark moment in dance, the world premiere of Procession introduced two of today’s most inventive and sought-after choreographers to The National Ballet of Canada. This debut collaboration with Bobbi Jene Smith and Or Schraiber delivers uncompromising creativity through a striking exploration of procession and the mysterious rituals that unite us, along with the deeper truths beneath. Procession is set to a Baroque score featuring powerful onstage performances by renowned mezzo-soprano Rachael Wilson and cellist Coleman Itzkoff.

Procession is supported by The Blidner Family Foundation, The Volunteer Committee of The National Ballet of Canada, The Anna McCowan-Johnson New Creations Fund and The Producers' Circle  (2026).  Additional support is provided by The Azrieli Foundation.

Please Note

A prop cigarette with vapour will be used onstage.
