This sketch depicts the Garland Dancer costume for the 1960 production of Princess Aurora, a version of the classic ballet The Sleeping Beauty. The rich textural and fairytale-like elements exhibited in Ambrose’s sketch are demonstrated below in the gowns of the Garland Dancers.
