The National Ballet of Canada will commission choreographers to create small scale, flexible and innovative dance works that can be presented in a wide variety of contexts. The works will feature little or no production elements, focusing on the power of the human body and classical ballet technique to express and create connection.

Each season, the company will commission three micro-works that will be curated by Robert Binet, Curator and Producer of CreativAction and Special Initiatives, in consultation with Artistic Director Hope Muir.

Choreographers who have participated in the Micro-Commissions program to date are:
Meryem Alaoui
Ethan Colangelo
Natasha Powell
Kunal Ranchod
